Exercise can add healthy and active years to one's life. Many studies have shown that its never too late to start exercising.
The good news is that we do not have to strive for Olympian heights to achieve very significant health benefits. We can improve the quality of our lives through a lifelong practice of moderate amounts and regular physical activity.
Regular physical activity greatly reduces the risk of heart disease, back and joint problems, diabetes and high blood pressure, to name a few.
The benefits include developing healthy muscles, bones & joints, an enhanced sense of well being and mental vigor, all of which significantly contribute to preserving our independence.
The Aerobics, Stretch & Strength program of only three hours a week is held on Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8am - 9am at the Clubhouse during the winter season. Please check for updates on CH 33 and the KGC Newsletter. Its a program that aims to provide the benefits and minimize the health risks outlined above in an atmosphere of fun, mutual support and encouragement.
We strongly recommend that you check with your Doctor and have a physical examination before you start this or any exercise program. We do not promote or believe in "No pain no gain" and we stress that each individual exercise at a pace that is comfortable for them, we are not handing out any medals.
Wear comfortable clothing and footwear appropriate for the temperature and humidity. We recommend you bring a bottle of water, as we age our sense of thirst tends to decrease.
