HEALTHLINE: One of our former residents, Barbara DeWar, had a hip replacement on May 10th. According to her husband, Don, she is home and doing well. Cheer cards may be sent to her for 55 cents to 3 Meadow Lane, R1 Belwood, Ontario, NOBIJO, Canada ..Tess Cronk, 70 King Arthur Drive, is home after a second trip to the hospital due to a blood clot. Update as to visitors may be announced today but cards and prayers are always appreciated. Jane Haggerty, 480-1655
SOLO CLUB will meet and eat May 25th, 5:30, at Steak and Ale Restaurant, 4034 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. If you have any questions or need a ride, call Dick Bartlett, 485-1039. Please sign up in the Clubhouse and put your name tag by the door now.
RECYCLING AT KINGS GATE: This has been a very important activity for this Club environmentally as well as financially. Ike Richards has been diligent, concerned and a hard-working chairman of recycling. We all appreciate his efforts very much. Ike is resigning as of June. Therefore, the RT will be in need of recycling Chairman then. Please Volunteer. Call Gigi, 488-7810
MEMORIAL DAY: Plans are coming along. Doris King is Co-Chair. Gigi Conway will need help with table setup and decorations next Saturday after the meeting. Marilyn Phillips and crew will have the snack, punch, and dessert tables. Shirley Froehlich will have some exciting games for the patio and pool area. Cooking crew, Tom Conway, Bob Froehlich, Bud Porzio and Nip will have hot dogs, bratwurst, hamburgers, chicken, and fish ready to serve at 5:00 pm. That will give you time to eat and go down to the Venice Community Center for the Venice Concert Band Memorial Day program at 7:00 pm. Donations for ticket (we need to know how many will attend. KGC TRAVEL: We are getting excited about the upcoming River Cruise in Europe. Will be leaving June 5th and returning June 18th. There will be 80 Kings Gate and friends of Kings Gate passengers on the River Queen as it leaves Amsterdam to travel down Rhine and Danube to Vienna. What a lifebut somebody has to do it! A few new items on the travel pages at our web side (kgc.cc) still have some construction. Mostly adding pictures to the library. Beauty and the Beast16 left. Nip and Jackie
BINGO: Last Tuesday was the end of Bingo until the fall.
