HEALTHLINE: There have been no new items reported to Healthline. I have received cards of appreciation from Reo Leach, Shari Jones Joyce, and an acknowledgement from St Marks Episcopal Church in Canton , Ohio for a donation sent to them in memory of Phil Furbay. These will be placed on the bulletin board in the Clubhouse. Please remember the Healthline items given on Saturday and those handed in for the News are retained in the notebook which is kept under the Bulletin Board in the clubhouse. Hopefully, the addresses for get well or sympathy cards may be found in this notebook. If not, contact Jane Haggerty at 480-1655.
WATER PLANT TOUR: Display and tour of T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Water plant tour June 7th at 10 am. This is one of the largest electrodialysis reversal plants in the world. Anyone interested in the tour should sign the list posted on the bulletin board or call Marcel at 488-2895.
MEMORIAL DAY: Plans are coming along. Doris King is Co-Chair. Gigi Conway will need help with table setup and decorations today after the meeting. Marilyn Phillips and crew will have the snack, punch, and dessert tables. Shirley Froehlich will have some exciting games for the patio and pool area. Cooking crew, Tom Conway, Bob Froehlich, Bud Porzio and Nip will have hot dogs, bratwurst, hamburgers, chicken, and fish ready to serve at 5:00 pm. That will give you time to eat and go down to the Venice Community Center for the Venice Concert Band Memorial Day program at 7:00 pm. Donations for tickets (we need to know how many will attend.) It will be a fun day. Nip
CHARITIES: The Charity Committee welcomes any suggestions you have concerning our Charities donations for this year. Please submit your suggestions to: Shirley Froehlich, Chairperson, Rose Coffin, Mary Lou Richmond and Arlene Herbert.
RECYCLING: Many thanks, Ike, for reconsidering your Chairmanship of this important KGC Committee. Be assured, your are needed and appreciated. Round Table
JETTY PICNIC: The last jetty picnic for the season was held May 18th and there were 29 people who turned out. Though this was the last time the pavilion has been reserved for KGC until October 12th, you can continue to enjoy summer picnics at the beach. This is an activity sponsored by the Round Table, and we have had an increase in both new and long time members who are finding out what a fun outing it is. You donīt need a skill or special talent to take part, only the wish to socialize, so put it on your list of things to do. We always welcome new faces. Mark October 12th on your calendars for the first picnic in the fall. Jan and Lolly
MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC: Be sure to get your ticket (donation) to the Picnic on Monday, the 29th at 4 PM here at the Patio and Clubhouse. We will eat at 5 PM. Bring your own drinks and a dish to share. Ice, punch and snack chips will be furnished. Menu is Hot Dogs, Bratwurst, Hamburgers, BBQ Chicken and Fried Fish. Help set up tables after the meeting today. Nip & Committee
