HAM RADIO TECHNICIAN LICENSE COURSE:   The Sarasota County Auxiliary Communications Service, is offering a ham radio Technician License course for those individuals interested in obtaining an entry level ham radio license.   We understand not everyone has time to spend in a classroom once or twice a week, for several weeks. For this reason, this course will be strictly "self study" training, which you can do on your own schedule. A willingness to pre-study and take on-line practice exams is an imperative part of this course.  More information from Jim Prentice 488-5267 if interested.

SUPER BOWL "43" PARTY:   Tickets will be on sale for the next few Saturdays for the Super Bowl Party which is on Sunday February 1, 2009.   Enjoy the game on the "big screen" with your friends.   Snacks at 5:30 pm - Subs at 6:00 pm - Kickoff is 6:28 pm.   Ice cream bars are also included, all for the price of $6.00.   BYOB.   "Pool" squares will also be available for sale.   Even if your team is not in the Super Bowl, you can cheer for someone else's team like we will be doing.   Any questions - call Gene and Mickey 488-8281

THOUGHTS:   It is with a sad heart that I say goodbye to Dee Hicks as Editor of the Newsletter - and my "boss."   It has been a delight to work with Dee.   Wish both Dee and Lyle well, and am just glad they will continue to live at KGC.   Now, as time moves on, know I will enjoy working with new Editor Sue Logan and also know that our Newsletter is in capable hands.       ---SJB
