HORSE RACE-PIZZA PARTY:   We sold 192 tickets for the party last Saturday evening.   Had 77 pizzas with just a few leftovers.   From the ticket sellers to the Bugler - the ticket sorters - the bookies - the odds makers - the callers - the pizza and ice cream bar deliverers - to all who helped set up and take down - we owe a debt of gratitude.   Without them, we would not have had such a successful party.   We also had volunteers from the audience to move the horses.   We had a nice return visit from Luigi Bosco who danced with a few lucky ladies and kept us amused for a while.   Eight lucky people won Gift Certificates from Ophelia's Restaurant.   We saw an awful lot of smiling faces, which made it all worthwhile.   Thanks to everyone who helped.       ---Bud and Mary Porzio       (And our THANKS to Bud and Mary for chairing this fun event.)

RECYCLING:   There have been recent reports of finding bags of aluminum cans in the trash container.   These cans should be taken to the can crusher.   If you are able to do so, please crush them yourself.   Otherwise leave them in a bag by the crusher.   Remember - these crushed cans are sold and bring in money to the coffers of the Round Table.   Your help is appreciated!!!

CLOTHE-A-CHILD COLLECTION:   The baskets, which were passed last Saturday, brought in $720.   Thanks to our generous residents for donating to this worthwhile project.   Cheryl Patricca and her committee will be shopping with the students later in the summer, in time for school in the fall. By the way, if anyone wasn't at the meeting and still wishes to donate, just see Cheryl - she'll add your donation to the fund.

TOM PATRICCA:   The video, which was done by Don Richmond, depicting Tom's life was excellent.   It was shown at last Saturday's meeting.   A nice tribute to our past Board President!

SARASOTA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:   Sgt. Neil Scully of the Crime Prevention group from the Sheriff's office presented a very interesting and informative talk after our meeting last Saturday. Then he met with the group who go out on Safety Patrol in the Club and offered some valuable tips.

THOUGHTS:   Our annual Fair is almost here (where does time go?).   If you are new in the Club and have questions about the Fair, contact Rex Ingerick, Fair Chair - or talk to some of our residents.   The Fair is fun and it's a wonderful way to become acquainted with other residents. Plus, the profits from this one-day event benefit the Round Table projects, and a portion of the profits go to the various charities, which KGC supports.   So, if you haven't yet signed up to help at this event - do so NOW.   Help is always needed and you will enjoy it.       ---SJB

LETTER to the EDITOR:   I wish to express my thanks to Jan & Chuck Collins and "Crew" for the wonderful "Support Our Troops" Entertainment program conducted at the Clubhouse. It gave me great pleasure in seeing all the pictures and program presented on the KGC site. God Bless them all.       Vince Caudy, 285 Ave of Queens, Former Chair for the KGC & KGP Veterans Club.
