PRINCESS AVE BLOCK PARTY was March 28th, and a good time was had by all 34 residents and renters attending. Pretty windy but the party must go on! Good food, good camaraderie. We have someone's POTHOLDERS. -- Jackie and Nip Barker
SCARY MOMENTS: We were visiting with Jessica and Jim Prentice at the Princess Ave. Block Party, and Jess told the following story: "We were enjoying another nice day kayaking on the Braden River, but then they are all nice on the water here. We saw many birds and turtles plus about 23 gators sunning themselves along the river banks. One almost got us... we were watching a nest of baby gators and the mother surfaced under my paddle. It then swung around and dove under Jim's boat, rocking it a bit with her tail. He was able to stabilize it from capsizing, etc....close call averted once again. The other night we took a short bike ride and just beside Laurel Road, in the ditch, a small gator was laying there looking up at us!! How many times will we get away with this?" Thanks, Jess, for sharing this story with us. You both better be careful - we want you with us for many years to come. -- SJB
THOUGHTS: Many of our owners and renters are getting ready to leave our "little bit of paradise." As I sat at the Sailor Circus last Friday evening, watching the kids work so hard, I thought once again how fortunate we are to be able to enjoy all these activities. I've been to the Sailor Circus about 25 times and Fred has attended about 18 times. In this case, thanks to the Richmonds for setting up this delightful evening. -- SJB
