GUIDE DOGS: Today, Leigh Anne is here with "Duchess" for her last visit. Duchess will enter "Guide" training at SEGD on September 22nd. Please DO NOT PET Duchess when "In-Bridle". If Leigh Anne removes the bridle, then you can pet. We wish Duchess success in her training and that she will go forward to provide "Mobility" to a sight impaired person. Thank you Leigh Anne for being our puppy raiser for Duchess. ---Nip & Jackie Barker
THE 09 LABOR DAY CELEBRATION was a big success! We sold 93 tickets, and most all of the folks went out in their golf carts on a Pirate Treasure hunt. There were 20 different treasures that they could find, somewhere within the Club or Park. The folks also wore the Pirate garb of old. We had a contest for the most original, which was won by the team of: Ernie and Judy Auerbach, Fran Yaros, and Irene Bette. They won 50 doubloon ($50.00). The team of Sandy and Ralph Garver, Sandy McIntyre and Joan Andrews, brought in the most treasure, and they were awarded 20 doubloon ($20.00). The same team also won the lucky duck number and won an additional 5 doubloon ($5.00).
We had a great feast of Pigeon and some other fine morsels, and we finished off the night with a great dance. I think that everyone left with a smile on their faces and a full belly, which makes for a successful evening.
We taxed the people of Camelot 5 gold coins to attend the festivities and gave a tax relief, back to the winners of the contests, a total of 75 gold coin. Everyone else was entertained and fed throughout the evening. Respectfully submitted, Tom Hicks
