HEALTHLINE: Ernie Auerbach had another bout with diverticulitis. He was scheduled for surgery, in the Venice Hospital, on Thursday (10/8). Prayers and cards would be appreciated. Visitors should call before going to see him. ---Judy Auerbach
Jean Davis (291 Avenue of Kings) has moved over to Harbor Chase on Pinebrook Road, in Venice. She is in room 230 and will welcome visitors, cards and phone calls (412-4424), from all of her friends at KGC. Keep your fingers crossed, as she is one step closer to coming home. ---Irene Bette
Mike Maroney, 212 Princess, is still at the Cleveland Clinic. A release date is unknown at this time. Your cards and prayers have really been appreciated. Any questions, call Sandy Crawford. ---Irene B.
Bill Hildreth, 306 Ave of Dukes, has been transferred from Venice Hospital to Sunset Lake Rehab Center for intensive physical therapy. We thank all of you who have sent cards or messages of good wishes, and he would welcome visitors at this time. ---Alice Hildreth
LEAGUE BOWLING starts Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, and ends Tuesday March 16, 2010 (23 weeks), at AMF Lanes. Warm-up time is for 10 minutes at 12:00 PM, and you must be ready for league play at 12:15 PM. NEW bowlers: to join our league, call Don Fisher at 485-0770 or Ben at 484-3134. ---Ben Quirion

DVD NEWS: Don Lambiotte donated a three set of three DVDs of Lonesome Dove. Included in the set, are Streets of Laredo, Dead Man's Walk and Lonesome Dove; it is now in the video library. Also available is a new DVD, Gifted Hands, a must see, true story of Dr. Ben Carson, at John Hopkins Hospital. On order to arrive this week, from Amazon, are two DVDs requested by residents: Witches of Eastwick and Paper Chase. They should be here by Friday, October 9th.
ALSO, DOUBT is still missing! Whoever has this DVD, please return it - no questions asked. People are waiting to see this DVD. ---Jean Ickes
HALLOWEEN: All of you Ghosts and Goblins out there in KGC, we invite you to the Spook-tacular Halloween Party and Dance on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, in the dungeons of the Castle. Bring along appetizers or finger foods to share, and bring your own beverage. We invite you to come as your favorite Halloween character. Prizes will be awarded for costume and makeup at the Witches' Parade. Music will be played by the "Knights of the Roundtable." Dancing, singing, costumes, pumpkins, fun and a few surprises thrown in. Before Oct. 31, create a carved or painted pumpkin. Bring your pumpkin to the Oct. 31, Saturday morning meeting, to be judged and put on display. You may win a cash prize for your creation.
