EARLIER DEADLINE NEXT WEEK: Since the office will be closed, and the newsletter cannot be printed on Friday, the deadline will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009.
HEALTHLINE: As of 11/13, Carol Myers, 282 Avenue of Queens, was in the hospital, following knee surgery and then an infection in the knee. Meanwhile, she had kidney failure and is on dialysis. Keep her in your prayers and maybe send a get well card to her northern address (in KGC directory). ---Irene Bette
THANKSGIVING DINNER: Come join your friends and neighbors in the Clubhouse for Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, 26th November. 1 PM, Appetizers; 2 PM, turkey dinner and all the fixings. We shall be selling tickets today, Saturday the 21st and signing up volunteers. When buying your tickets, please advise if you want a table with specific friends. Don't miss this culinary delight; the Chefs of Uzbekistan......(would you believe Nokomis?) have voted this a dinner not to be missed. ---Alan & Rosemary Holdway, 412-3872
CHRISTMAS SALE: The Christmas Boutique will be available this morning, Saturday, Nov 21st, before and after the meeting, and it will be set up until after bingo on Tuesday, Nov. 24th. ---Angie Richards

ATTENTION - WANNABE GUITAR PLAYERS: If you are interested in learning to play the guitar, please attend a meeting which will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 9 AM, in the Activities Room. If you don't have a guitar, we will discuss how to obtain one at that meeting. ---Ron Carpenter
NEW DVDS: Orphan and UP. Also donated but not put in DVD record - US Navy Carriers: Weapons of War. On third shelf are DVDs that are donated and can be taken out as you like... no card. ---Jean Ickes
HORSE RACE-PIZZA PARTY: From all the smiling faces we saw, we guess everyone had a good time at the party. We were overwhelmed at all the volunteers we had to help us. From the setting up of the tables down to the clean-up, it was amazing. We could never have done it without all the help we received. The standing ovation brought us both to tears. Thank you all, Bud & Mary Porzio.
PATIO PARTY last Sunday was a huge success. Music by Lee and Char was most enjoyable, the weather was delightful, and the ice cream was delicious. A BIG THANK YOU to Loretta Brian, who chaired this party, and to her committee: Pat Sellner, Mary Jane Rodecki, Mary Jane Shelby, Chris Townsend, Linda MacMillan and Angie Richards.
SCAMS of various types seem to be somewhat prevalent, right now. Both John Eade and Art Grams spoke about this at last Saturday's meeting. Best advice: if anyone calls you on the phone, be sure who you are talking to; same is true if anyone knocks on your door. Most of all, do not sign anything unless you are very sure just what you are signing. Jerry Robinson is Chair of the Consumer Advisory Committee; he is a resource, if you need to hire work done. It is also important to let Jerry know if you are satisfied (or dissatisfied) with a company, or an individual, who has done work for you.
EUCHRE: Each Friday evening at 7 PM, a group meets in the clubhouse to play this fun, easy card game. Cost is 70 cents per person each week. Posie Gallaher, (480-1868), chairs this activity. Posie is willing to teach you this game - just call her. Over the years, we've had 9 to 14 tables a week playing Euchre. We're hoping to work up to this number again. Sign up in the clubhouse, so we know you'll be with us.
RENTERS: Welcome to Joe and Terry Koss, who are renting 256 Camelot Drive from Nov. 14 until Dec. 12, 2009. They are from Mukwonago, WI. Phone is 488-8315. We hope you enjoy your stay at the Club!
NAME TAGS: Please, PLEASE wear your name tag to ALL Club functions. In particular, be sure to wear it to Saturday morning meetings. It is a great help to both our new and longtime residents, to be able to associate names and faces. So, give your name tag a good workout!
MOVIE: There will be no movie on Nov. 25, as the hall will be set up for Thanksgiving Dinner. ---Arlene
CABLENEWS: News items to be shown on the KGC TV channels (117 or 795) should be e-mailed to cablenews@kgc.cc or left on the clip on the door to the Control Room, at the foot of the stairs to the stage. Dee Hicks will be the cablenews operator beginning Sat., Nov. 14, for a couple of weeks. News items can be called into her, or left on her clip at 45 King Arthur Dr. ---Barb Amatrudo
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Chairpersons for both this year's Christmas Dinner and New Year's Eve Dance are needed - please consider. Info from previous year's events, is available. Worker volunteers are always plentiful. Contact: George Agricola, 488-8520, or Jim Purkey, 412-1228
