REMINDER - Very Important Meetings!
1) The Annual Meeting and election of Directors for the Round Table and KGC will be Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 10:00 AM. There will be a bonus of FREE coffee and donuts.
2) The monthly Board of Directors meeting will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 9:00 AM.
3) The Round Table meeting on Saturday, January 20, 2007, Attorney Harlan Domber will give a presentation on the state of Mobile Home Communities. Attorney Domber is very familiar with King's Gate Club having handled most of the property transfers for the residents through the years. Coffee and donuts will be furnished by Attorney Domber.
COMPUTER SALES: TODAY ONLY - "FREE - FREE - FREE" - everyone with a computer should have an EXTRA Power Cord. There are two per computer, one for box power and one for monitor power. REMINDER FOR ALL RESIDENTS: Three (3) rooms here in KGC have been re-named. The former Ceramic room is now the ACTIVITIES ROOM. The former Billiards & Library room is now the BOOK AND GAME ROOM. The former Poker room is now the CARD ROOM.
BOOK CLUB: "Jane Austen in Boca" by Paula Marantz Cohen will be discussed at our next meeting on Monday, January 29, at 1:00 PM in the Book & Game Room. This humorous novel is an update of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and is set in a Jewish retirement community in Boca Raton. Observations of life among Florida retirees are combined with parallels to the original novel. Sarasota County Libraries have a number of copies of this book, but not a copy on the shelves in Venice. CANDIDATES NIGHT: 108 people attended Candidates Night last Saturday evening. This was a good chance for people to meet the candidates for both the Board of Directors and the Round Table. Desserts were then served by the candidates and their spouses.

WELCOME PARTY: This past Wednesday evening was the Welcome Party for the new owners at KGC, sponsored by the Welcome Committee and the Solo's Group. Each new owner present was introduced and said a few words. Tom Patricca, Vince Caudy, Mary Lou Richmond, Don Lambiotte and Alan Holdway welcomed these people and gave them an idea of how the Club operates and some of our activities. Desserts were then served at the end of the program. Over 100 of our owners were present to welcome the new residents. Think all new owners mentioned the friendliness here at the Club.
