8 ACRES UPDATE: Following is a report from Dick Lyford, who is the liaison between the Board of Directors and the County: "On Monday, January 29, 2007, we had a meeting with representatives of the County and the Engineer to discuss the progress of Honore Avenue, our wall, the 8 acres, and the schedule for the road. At our next BOD meeting in February, we will talk about these issues. The County is going to have a public meeting at the school on Laurel Road in March to update the public on its progress. You will be notified as to the time and date of this meeting."
MUSIC APPRECIATION: Thanks to Alan and Rosemary Holdway for a wonderful evening last Saturday. Over 125 people attended this program to hear Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra as they celebrated New Years Eve in Vienna. It was spectacular! The "goodies" at intermission were delicious, too. Watch for the next "Music Appreciation" program - you will be happy you make plans to attend.
THOUGHTS: As we start a new year with our Board of Directors and Round Table Committee, we should be most grateful to the people who ran for these groups. They are volunteers who put in a great deal of their time to benefit us. We do not always have to agree with them, but should remember they are always working for the benefit of the Club. And, our "Little Bit of Paradise" is a wonderful place to live! ---SJB
