BOOK CLUB:   Book Club will meet on December 17, at 1:00 p.m. in the Book & Game Room.   Sandy McIntyre will present "The Glass Castle: A Memoir" written by journalist, Jeannette Walls.   This memoir revolves around her parents, who give "bad parenting" a whole new meaning.   Her irresponsible, romantic alcoholic father was an inventor of outlandishly useless devices, and her mother, an artist, was emotionally unfit for motherhood (and/or mentally ill).   As they dragged the family around the country on the run from creditors and from one bad idea to another, they provided little care for their four children leaving them to fend for themselves much of the time.   Despite all odds, Jeannette and her siblings manage to become productive adults.   Come join us to hear about this thought-provoking book.   You're welcome to attend even if you haven't read the book.       ---Sandy McIntyre

CONGRATULATIONS to Cheryl Patricca who has passed the exam and is now Broker/Associate at King's Gate Realty Co.

CLOTHE-A-CHILD:   Cheryl Patricca, Chair of this project, reports that our residents donated a total of $507.00 when the baskets were passed last week.   Cheryl and her committee help students shop for school clothes and supplies each year just before school starts.   THANKS FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!

FOOD PANTRY:   Last Saturday 120 food items were donated to this worthwhile cause plus $348.00 was collected.   Thanks to all who donated - the food and money will be put to good use.

SWIMMING POOL CLOSING:   The pool was closed Monday morning November 26th for repair to a broken water line.   The pool leak is in the piping under the pool, which required the pool to be drained.   The pool will remain closed for several more days.   If you use the pool at King's Gate Park, please take your name tag so their residents will know you are from KGC.   Please observe their rules.       Thanks,   Charles, Mgr

THOUGHTS:   Last Monday the Board of Directors held a Workshop at the Clubhouse regarding the 8-Acres.   After the Board spoke, there was a time for questions from those in attendance.   They were disappointed in the small attendance at this meeting.   (The Ohio Club already had their luncheon set up before this meeting date was established so had to go ahead with their plans).   The more people who attend the more questions and suggestions there are apt to be.   And, if you don't attend, you can't complain about how things are handled.   So, plan to attend any future Workshops.       ---SJB
